Welcome to Vardis Villa, a Cretan hidden gem! Vardis Villa surrounded by a beautiful landscape and breathtaking views. Unwind and rejuvenate in the midst of nature with a glass of wine, in one of the most exciting locations of Crete. Built at the slopes of White Mountains overlooking the old Venetian village of Vafes, with the aura of a residence that exhales fine taste, style, luxury with traditional elements and a professional standard hospitality. Our Villa is located just a 15-minute drive from the beach, restaurants bars café and shops. The enchanting city of Chania is a 30-minute drive away, while the splendid coastal town of Rethymnon is also within easy reach. Its superb location helps you to explore the beauties of Crete island. Vardis Villa offer a large living room with kitchen area, 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, an outdoor swimming pool ideal for 6 + 2 guests. Our village Vafes is a semi-mountainous village of Chania at an altitude of 210 meters, 37 kilometers from Chania. The majority of the buildings dating back to the Venetian era, with vivid architectural elements. Is the only village in the prefecture of Chania that was declared by the Ministry of Culture as a historical monument due to its important history, tradition and wonderful architecture. The old buildings are made of local materials such as wood, stones and soil. In the village there are two traditional cafe and a Cretan tavern where you can taste the real Cretan cuisine with local products, as well as the hospitality of the local people. Vafes is a small village, which is 37 km from Chania. It is situated at an altitude of 210 meters and the few inhabitants are engaged in farming producing oil and wine. Vafes of Apokoronos is the only village in the prefecture of Chania which has been declared since 1997 entirely by the Ministry of Culture as a historical monument because of its significant magnificent architecture and history. Strolling in the the streets of the small village of painting, you realize the beauty of Venetian buildings. In Vafes, there is a tavern to eat and a hostel to stay, which is divided into two buildings which were restored following the architectural heritage of the place. In Vafes, there is the church of the Holy Apostles with the golden temple and arches, the very old stone vaulted storerooms. In two of these, the village’s priest has gathered a small collection of icons of the 18th century. Vardis Villa has the following facilities: ? Water sports ? Yacht cruises Location & Directions There are two ways to reach the island of Crete: BY BOAT: From Piraeus port, daily departures to Souda port of Chania or to the port of Heraklion. BY PLANE: There are two international airports on the island: in Chania and in Heraklion. DISTANCES Chania Airport: 43 km (40 min. drive to Vryses, Vafes and then to the house). Souda Port of Chania: 28km (30min. drive to Vryses, Vafes and then to the house). Heraklion Port or Airport: 114 km (100 min. drive to Vryses, Vafes and then to the house). From Chania airport or Souda port: Follow the signs to the highway in the direction of Rethymno. Take the highway. By pass the junction to Kalyves – Armeni and drive for another 10,5 km. After a bridge you will see a sign to Vryses – Hora Sfakion. There turn right and at the first junction turn left. After 250 meters turn right following the road to Vafes Village. After 4.5km you will reach Vafes village. Enter the village and at the crossroad at the heart of the village turn left. Drive for approximately 300meters and you will reach Vardis Villa at your right. From airport or harbour of Heraklion: Follow the signs to the highway in the direction of Rethymno – Chania. Take the highway. Pass all the exits to Rethymno and continue, headed in the direction Chania. Drive for approximately 24,5 and take the exit to Vryses. Enter Vryses village and at the end of the road turn right. After the Oil station at your left, a little bit further you will see an INKA Super Market at your right. There at the junction turn left and follow the road to Vafes Village. Enter the village and at the crossroad at the heart of the village turn left. Drive for approximately 300meters and you will reach Vardis Villa at your right.
