Marta's choice!
My colleague Marta suggested me this villa, located in the centre of Nerja. She wanted to make a bet that this would become a very popular villa. In her opinion, our clients wouldn't mind to pay a bit more. But I had my doubts... the villa was and is not cheap, although the interior is of good quality. Finally, we were able to take something off the price and made it happen...
Location and outside area
And our clients love the villa! Think about it: how much valuable holiday time will you will save because you don’t have to drive your rental car to the beach, restaurants, supermarkets...? Restaurants are literally a few steps away from this villa and the beach is just a 200 m walk. Now, if you still wanted to bring your rental, that isn’t a problem either. The villa has its own private outdoor parking! Traffic noise? None. No street traffic is allowed except for you and the few neighbours who have parking at their house. Let me tell you a bit more about this special villa. On the ground floor, large window doors open onto a south facing sun terrace with sun loungers, a private pool, and amazing sea views. If you look down, you’ll see the beautiful Carabeillo beach, sandwiched between Burriana and Carabeo beach. You can now imagine why the terrace is a favourite spot for alfresco dining and that’s exactly why we decided to provide the villa with a barbecue. Now, please take a look at picture no. 2, first floor: do you see the private terrace and balcony? Those are accessible from 2 of the bedrooms—imagine, you can just wake up and walk out to those views. There is also some bad news: I'm afraid a coin will have to be tossed to decide whoever is going to take the 3rd bedroom... no terrace (sorry!). Now, let’s talk about the inside where we came across a surprise...
Notes:
* The City Council of Nerja has the intention to cut Carabeo Street with a poller in the near future. At this moment we do not know if the street, and thus the parking, will be accessible for the guests, since there is a lack of information on the part of the City Council. The community of property owners is claiming that access will be granted but it is soon to know if this will be solved in a positive way. In case access to the parking of the villa finally would not be possible, then we nor the property owner can not be held responsible. Should this happen, then you can park your car at "Parking Carabeo", a very large parking lot just behind Calle Carabeo, at 3 minutes walk. There is a special price for 7 days (please ask us for approximate prices).
* In the second week of October, lasting from 4 to 5 days, you will be able to attend the Feria de Nerja (Nerja fair). For the duration of the fair, the fairgrounds in the centre of Nerja are covered in rows of casetas (individual decorated marquee tents which are temporarily built on the fairground). During the fair, you will find people (many ladies and some men in traditional flamenco outfit arriving on horse) partying and dancing "Sevillanas", drinking Jerez sherry, or manzanilla wine, and eating tapas. So, this is an attractive event, but it also has to consequences that may not be so attractive: The private parking next to the villa will not be available from a few days days before and during the fair because the calle Carabeo will not be accessible. If you bring a car, you can try to find a spot in the surroundings or we can offer you a free parking at Marina Turquesa apartments (at 1,5 km from the villa). You may suffer nuisance from the noise of fair (music etc). We estimate this will not affect you very much as the villa is at a prudent distance from the area, but we are not able to guarantee anything.
Inside and lay-out
When Marta showed me in, I was actually not pleasantly surprised. Yes, you read that well, I said NOT. The electric sun blinds were down and it was pitch dark inside. When I tried to turn on the lights, they didn’t work. It appears that the villa has a couple of spare light switches that are not connected to any light! But once we had the lights on and the sun blinds up... I was impressed! The first door I opened, right at the entrance, was a lavatory with chic dark-marble tiles. That set the tone for the rest of the villa, where you will find spacious rooms with an elegant decoration. The large living room is split in three parts and has satellite TV and a cosy corner with an open fireplace. Then, there is a dining room and a luxury kitchen that "has it all" : vitro hob, oven, a built-in contact grill, microwave, fridge/freezer, dishwasher, and a washing machine. Upstairs are the three bedrooms (2 twins + 1 double) each with their ensuite bath or shower room. The villa has air conditioning in the lounge and master bedroom.
Notes:
- A WiFi Internet connection is available (free of charge).
- Air conditioning is available in the living room / kitchen and in 2 bedrooms (one with a double bed and one with two beds). The third bedroom is cooler since it doesn't catch the sun in the afternoon.
