Description

The construction of chisti lumerins dates back to 1316/1317. The interior however, was redesigned in 1970, by the internationally renowned architect Peter Zumthor (Pritzker Prize 2009, RIBA Royal Gold Medal 2013). His redesign has been meticuloulsly, and beautifully cared for and is now a remarkable example of Zumthor´s early work. The architect´s design can also be seen at the (not to be missed!) nearby beautiful spa Vals Therme. The castel is situated in the center of the village Lumbrein (1 400 m.ΓΌ.M) and commands a splendid view of the mountain Piz Terri. In the summer with the gentle sound of glacier stream in your ear, or in the quiet of winter snow, there is always a deep sense of peace in this lovely village. There is a small shop and a cheese dairy in the village where all necessities may be purchased. The village is an exceptional place from which to embark on Alpine adventures.

Animals are not allowed and it is a nonsmoking house. For the winter we have sledges and for the summer sunloungers. The parking lot is in summer next to the chisti and in winter by the church.
